We want Woodstock to be a vibrant, growing community. . . . . .with a thriving downtown business, retail and service sector on the Square and in Woodstock Station. . . .with successful retail corridors on Routes 14 and 47, continued commercial development and an expanded industrial corridor on Highway 120 and Lamb Road. . . .with a stable tax base that is sustained by balanced residential, retail and industrial development . . .that encourages infill, as well as growth in areas designated for development in the comprehensive plan. . . .that regularly celebrates its historic past, as well as its artistic, creative and cultural diversity. . . .with enhanced parks and recreational system. . . .with a fully developed and implemented transportation plan for Route 47. . . .with protected natural resources and an adequate, safe water supply. . . .with highly regarded schools and a staff educating motivated, achieving, disciplined students. . . .with city commission appointees who are forward thinking, reasoned individuals who consider all segments of the community when making decisions. . . .with an involved, informed citizenry, who votes and supports community interest agendas. . . .with elected representatives who understand the changing dynamics of the community, will listen and make intelligent, timely decisions. . . .with continued support for the City Manager/City Council form of government. |
